NoShowText Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-10-29

NoShowText is a service of GedDev, LLC, doing business as NoShowText, PO Box 889, Arcata, CA 95518 (“NoShowText”, “we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who else touches it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Questions: hello@noshowtext.com.

Two kinds of people read this: owners, who subscribe and connect a calendar, and clients, whose appointments get the reminder texts. Where a rule differs we say which.

What we collect

From owners (account data). Your name, email, mobile number, business name, time zone, and the calendar you connect. Payment details go to Stripe; we see the last four digits of the card, the card brand and your billing status, never the full number.

From your calendar (event data). When you connect Google Calendar or Calendly we read upcoming events: title, start and end time, the client’s name and mobile number as they appear in the event or booking form, the booking id, and for Calendly the invitee’s reschedule and cancel links. We read nothing older than the day you connect and nothing without a phone number we can text. We never write to your calendar: access is read-only.

From clients (reminder data). The mobile number, the texts we send, the texts they send back, delivery status from the carrier, and the consent record described below. If a client replies in words, that text is passed to the business and kept with the thread.

From visitors. Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) and self-hosted page analytics (Umami) with no cookies and no cross-site tracking. The “text yourself a sample” tool collects the number you type, your email if you give it, and your IP, to stop abuse.

Why

To send appointment reminders and relay replies, which is the service. To bill you. To keep the consent record carriers and the law require. To stop fraud and abuse of the texting number. To answer support email and tell you about changes. We do not use client data to build profiles, train models, or for anything other than the reminders the business asked for.

Clients receive texts only after their mobile number was given to the business for appointment communication, with a consent notice naming NoShowText and the business. The first text to any number is a one-time confirmation with STOP and HELP instructions, before any reminder. Message frequency varies with bookings. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any text and that number receives nothing further from us, for any business on our service, until the person replies START. Plain-language requests like “stop texting me” are honoured too. Reply HELP for help, or email hello@noshowtext.com. We keep a record of every opt-in, confirmation and opt-out.

Who else touches the data (sub-processors)

CompanyWhat it does for usWhat it sees
Twiliosends and receives the texts, looks up whether a number is a mobilephone numbers, message text, delivery status
Stripebilling and the customer portalowner name, email, card, subscription status
Googlecalendar connection (OAuth)the event data above, under Google’s API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use rules
Calendlycalendar connection (OAuth and webhooks)the booking data above
Cloudflarehosts the website and shields itvisitor IPs and page requests
Resendsends our account emails (receipts, trial notices, alerts)owner email address and the email content

Each processes data only on our instructions. The service itself runs on a server we operate in the United States. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else for their own use.

Google user data

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We read calendar events only to schedule reminders and relay replies for the connected account. We do not transfer that data to others except as needed to provide the service, do not use it for advertising, and no human at NoShowText reads it except to fix a problem you report, with your permission, or as the law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Calendar and reminder data: 90 days after the appointment, then deleted. Message threads go with it.
  • After an owner cancels: everything for that account is deleted 30 days after the subscription ends, except what the next two lines cover.
  • Consent, opt-in and opt-out records: kept while the number is opted in and for four years after, because that is how long a texting complaint can be raised.
  • Billing records: seven years, as tax law asks. Stripe holds the card.
  • Server logs: 30 days. Analytics are aggregate and keep no personal data.

Your rights

Owners can see and change their account on the settings page and delete it there or by emailing us. Clients can ask the business they booked with, or email us with the number, and we will tell them what we hold about that number, correct it or delete it, within 45 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to delete it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law, so there is nothing to opt out of. To exercise a right, email hello@noshowtext.com; we may ask you to confirm the phone number or email in question. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.

Residents of other states with privacy laws have similar rights and the same address to use.

Children

NoShowText is for businesses and their adult clients. We do not knowingly text or collect information from anyone under 13 (under 16 for California’s stricter rules). If a tenant books minors, the mobile number on the booking must be a parent’s or guardian’s. Tell us if a child’s number has been entered and we will delete it.

Security

Calendar tokens are encrypted at rest and access to the data is limited to the people who run the service. Texts travel over carrier networks, which are not encrypted end to end; do not put health, financial or other sensitive detail in a reminder reply.

Changes

We will post changes here with a new effective date and email owners about anything that changes what we collect or how we use it, at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires faster. Continued use after that date is acceptance.
